A Walk At The Beach

I started my post this morning talking about the recent removal of our huge trees.  I had problems getting my photos to download right, so I switched it up and decided instead, to talk about our walk yesterday at Rosy Mound park.  If you want a hike, and a good workout, this is the place to go.  But look how pretty the water looked!

There were some people 4 wheeling on the beach.  You would have thought it was winter the way they were bundled up!  LOL

I don't know if you you can see the way the leaves are flying sideways due to the wind.  Okay...so it's not that interesting!  I was having a hard time choosing what to photograph.

We are at the bottom of this stairway.  Rosy Mound is know for it's hundreds of stairs.  There are 97 here to climb back up to get back to the parking lot!  Whew!!  That was a workout!

But at the top of the stairs in one of the lookouts, this is what we saw.  Pretty, isn't it!

And last, but not least, hubby is playing around behind this awesome dead tree on one of the paths.  Lots of "arms" on this one!

Have a wonderful Monday!

  1. What a beautiful place to take a walk!! And I'm sure the 4-wheelers had so many clothes on because of the breeze coming off of the water. I remember that being the case when we went to Michigan!...And hmmmm...nice arms...and leg...on the old tree! ^_^

  2. Gorgeous! It's our favorite place to hike and enjoy the beach...so peaceful and pretty! It's definitely worth 1 mile hike there and back. Great shots too Cindy! I'm surprised we've never run into each other around town! lol Glad you posted this, since we didn't make it there at all this weekend :) ~Melissa

  3. Wow that is very beautiful. Maybe I missed it but how far is your house from this place? If it's not that far you are one lucky woman to have such a beautiful place so close. Thank you for sharing

  4. I am so jealous! I love the beach. I know, why do I live in the desert then? Lovely photos!

  5. Wug...that breeze was a bit brisk. But I had on a hoodie sweatshirt and was plenty warm. It was a beautiful walk for sure. Thanks for your comment!

  6. Melissa, it was a gorgeous day for a walk for sure! That was the 1st time we've been there in a couple of years. Why? I don't know! We just don't think about it. We're only about 3 - 4 miles from there.
Glad you liked the photos. You probably recognize the places where they were taken. Maybe one of these days we'll run in to each other. You never know.

  7. Snowflakedreams1....It is a beautiful place for sure. I didn't mention how close we are, but I would say about 3 - 4 miles. No reason for us not to go there and hike more often. I love it! And yes, we are pretty fortunate to live in a place like this! I shouldn't be taking it for granted, but I do.
    Thanks for your comment!

  8. Thank you Peggi! I love the beach too. I spend very little time there in the summer because this is a tourist area. Too many tourists! Now is the time of year that I really enjoy being down there.
