A Brand New Necklace That Never Got Listed

Strange title, I know!! But I have been trying to figure out what to do with a ceramic button I bought a few weeks back to make a necklace with. Well, last Saturday, since it was raining all day, I decided to sit down and stare at it. Yes....I said stare at it. I have to do that to get my creative juices flowing!
My grandson had spent the night and he asked if he could make Mommy some earrings. So I gave him some things and told him to go to it. In the meantime, I started playing with my button! And this is what I came up with:

Keep in mind that the button is 2 inches in diameter!! Large indeed!

I was liking it more and more as I worked hard on it and Jonah worked hard on his earrings for Mommy (which, by the way turned out surprisingly cute!) He then proceeded to make Mommy a necklace too! Very cute indeed! She loved it!

Well, in the end, I LOVED the necklace! I was so proud of it I showed it to a friend this morning and she loved it too! In fact so much that she bought it!! That's why it will never get listed. I did want to at least show it off and see what everyone else thinks. Do you like it?????? I would love your input!

  1. Oh, Bead!!! This necklace is gorgeous!! This is right up my alley. It's big, detailed, a gorgeous color that can go with a lot of things,it has it's own personality, and it has a BUTTON!! ^_^ It's the kind of jewelry I call "Bo-dacious"!! In other words...People will notice you wearing that piece!!! I love it. You may just need to make more of them for your shop! You may start getting requests for this one!! :-))

  2. Yay!! I appreciate the encouragement on this one. I bought the button at an arts and crafts show. I'll have to see if she sells online to buy more of them. It's a handmade ceramic button. I loved the design in it.

  4. Hi Cindy, Your button necklace was wonderful! Love the fall color and what a most unusual, beautiful button. Looks like we need to check grandmother's button box. As far as things to post, I also have problems, but was wondering if you could teach a few things about making jewelry such as the types of wire, wire gauges, tools needed, etc. I know you are trying to sell your earrings, etc., but it's nice to share info, and while we are reading your posts, etc, we might just see some earrings, bracelet, etc, that we want now and don't want to try and find that perfect bead set that you have. Many people don't have the time to make their own, and more will buy when the economy gets better. In the mean time, you might consider selling some of your cute earrings, purse pulls, etc. as kits, and still make money. I think you would have tons of things to share if you were giving tips on your blog. Something for you to consider. Bye for now, Linna Mae
